Risky Business

RhED received funds from the Victorian Law Enforcement Drug Fund to enhance public amenity and safety through the development of an education resource for street sex workers. The Risky Business Project specifically focused on the needs of street sex workers with regard to reducing sexual violence, and more generally toward the needs of the local community in reducing the impact of street sex work and injecting drug use.

The Project has produced a product - The Risky Business Safety Kit that includes:

  • Hot Safety Tips Booklet
  • Safety Contacts Key Card
  • Safety Whistle
The Kit was developed with input from several focus groups of streets sex workers and a Reference Group with representatives from the City of Port Phillip, Victoria Police and VIVAIDS.
The kits are available from RhED staff at 10 Inkerman Street St. Kilda. The following PDF outlines the contents of the Hot Safety Tips Booklet and the Safety Contacts Keycard.
