Escort guide & help in Melbourne
Working in Victoria is different to working in other Australian states and territories.
In Victoria, the sex industry is regulated by the Sex Work Act 1994 and the Sex Work Regulations 2016 and the Public Health and Wellbeing Act 2008. These laws are very specific as to what is legal and what is not. You should really take the time to find out how to work legally before you begin. The best way to make sure you’re on the right track is to get in touch with RhED.
In Victoria if you want to work in a brothel setting or for an escort agency, you do not need a Sex Work Act (SWA) number. You will only need to show evidence of having attended for a STI test – a Certificate of Attendance is all you need to show the brothel or escort owner. The results are always confidential and for your information only.
If you want to work for yourself you will need to register for a Sex Work Act number (SWA). Get information from the Business Licensing Authority here.
Here are some notes for your profile: Keep your descriptions brief, do not mention race, colour, ethnicity or health status, photographs of persons in printed advertisements must be restricted to head and shoulders. However, if you are advertising on the internet, you are able to use full body shot photographs in advertising.
