Drugs and Working

  1. Drugs and alcohol can affect your mood, coordination, responsiveness and perceptions.

  2. Drugs and alcohol can also adversely affect your ability to stay in control and may make you extremely vulnerable and make safe sex harder to negotiate.

  3. Many drugs (including alcohol and pharmacy drugs) affect your co-ordination. Condoms can be slippery and fiddley things and they must be put on correctly to work properly and to avoid breakage.

  4. Never accept drinks or drugs from clients - you don’t know what they contain.

  5. If possible, avoid drink and drugs when working. If you want to drink or use drugs try and wait until after work!

  6. If drugs and alcohol are becoming a problem, RhED can assist with further information and referral.
