Resourcing health & Education (RhED) is a service for the sex industry in Victoria. The service provides site based and outreach services in collaboration with relevant programs and agencies.
RhED adopts a broad definition of sex work that is inclusive of those engaged in the provision of sexual services, sexually explicit entertainment and sexually explicit content creation.
RhED is committed to respecting and reflecting the needs of the sex industry, and actively promoting the rights of sex workers.
As with all services provided through RhED, you are guaranteed confidentiality in any interaction you have with us either by phone, in person or through our outreach and netreach services.
RhED is staffed by people who have worked or are working in the sex industry and other professionals.
The RhED volunteer program is made up of current and past sex workers.
RhED resources and presentations are developed in collaboration with sex workers.
As a program of Star Health, RhED uses a social model of health, using harm minimisation; health promotion, social inclusion; and community participation approaches to promote physical, emotional and social health and wellbeing for its client groups.
To provide holistic and inclusive services, programmes and resources to Victorian-based sex workers, disseminate relevant and current information to the greater sex industry, and to provide sex-work-centred education to the wider community.
