Making the decision to come out as a sex worker can take time and consideration. Sex work is legitimate work and a choice made by many people. However, because of the stigma surrounding the industry this can be a stressful time for both parties. If someone has come out to you, they have shown you great trust. Informing yourself about the industry from reliable sources (ie – sex workers themselves) is the best place to begin.
