Online Advertising Options
Each Australian state and territory has different legislation for sex work and advertising sexual services online.
In Victoria, there are no sex industry specific advertising regulations. Following the passing of the Sex Work Decriminalisation Act 2022, there are no restrictions preventing you from;
- outlining the services you offer,
- posting nude photos,
- using the word massage in your advertising.
Victorian sex workers still need to follow federal legislation such as the Online Safety Act 2021*, Competition and Consumer Act 2010, and other general advertising and consumer regulations. Individual advertising platforms may also impose their own terms and conditions on people wishing to advertise on their site, which may impact what you can include in your ad.
*The Online Safety Act considers nudity to be ‘restricted online content,’ whereby the host of such content needs to ensure only people over the age of 18 can access the site. You can read more about this here.
The online world is ever-changing and we will do our best to keep this list updated with options for you to advertise your online services. Please note, the platforms listed below are not representative of RhED endorsements. It’s important to do your own research and make your own decisions about which platforms are best suited to your needs.
